Nothing left to chance at back

Ramsbottom United's joint managers Bernard Morley and Anthony Johnson moved swiftly to secure Chorley keeper Peter Collinge as back-up for injured custodian Grant Shenton, writes Tony Cunnigham.

Shenton was crocked in Saturday's 3-2 Evo-Stik Northern Premier League win at Salford City and the duo took no chances with their third placed side's promotion hopes, signing the 27-year-old from the Magpies in time for Tuesday night's 3-0 home win over Clitheroe in First Division North.

The experienced stopper has also played in the Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division this season at Stocksbridge Park Steels.
