Radcliffe extended their lead to five points at the top of the Northern Premier League with a 3-1 win over Workington.

It was a case of three quickfire goals for the Boro who struck first after five minutes through Josh Hancock, and just under 10 minutes later, Jordan Hulme grabbed a brace within two minutes.

David Symington would get one back for the visitors however it proved to be a consolation prize for the Reds who remain in 15th place.

Second-placed Warrington Rylands were held to a 0-0 draw away at Ashton United.

Former Robins boss Michael Clegg returned to Hurst Cross for the first time since his departure last January, and it proved to be a frustrating encounter in which both sides had chances to snatch a result.

Worksop Town bounced back from their disappointing loss on New Year’s Day with a 1-0 victory over Whitby Town.

A Jamie Bramwell own goal was the only thing separating the two evenly matched sides, meaning that the Tigers keep their spot in third.

Macclesfield were left empty handed after suffering a 2-1 defeat at home to Lancaster City. The Dolly Blues led 2-0 at half time, and despite John Rooney halving the deficit from the penalty spot, they could not overturn the visitors lead.

Meanwhile, Hyde United recorded an impressive 4-1 victory away at Marine. Goals from Josh Doherty, Matthew Fearnley and a brace from Jack Redshaw mean that Hyde leapfrog over both Whitby Town and Macclesfield into fourth place.

Ilkeston Town ended their three-game string of defeats with a 2-0 win over FC United of Manchester at the New Manor Ground.

Elsewhere, two late goals from Morpeth Town saw them clinch a victory at home to Bradford Park Avenue. The visitors took the lead after half an hour through Chinedu Osadebe, but their hearts would be broken after goals from Andrew Johnson and Nic Bollado in the dying minutes of the game sealed all three points for the Highwaymen.

There was also a late goal for Gainsborough Trinity who snatched a win away at Guisley, giving them their first back-to-back victories of the season, while Basford came away with a 1-0 win on the road against Stafford Rangers courtesy of a Toby Ritzema goal.
