One in, one out for Guiseley

Guiseley AFC have announced the signing of Callum Chippendale from Matlock Town.

Chippendale has joined the club as part of a deal which saw John Johnston move in the opposite direction.

Previous clubs include Buxton and Boston United, plus a loan spell at Gainsborough Trinity.

The 26-year-old attacking midfielder made his debut for Matlock Town in 2020 and has since appeared in 56 games for the side over the last three seasons.

On his aims with The Lions, Chippendale told the club’s official website: “I am hoping for the play-offs at the very least with Guiseley, a club that was a good National League North side and need to be back there.

“I will be doing all I can to make that a reality. I want to help the team achieve things this season."

He added: “I have twice been in the play-offs, but although it is an achievement within itself it is not quite getting over the line, and I hope to go one better with Guiseley.”

Chippendale is ineligible for tonight’s game against Horbury Town but should be available for selection on Saturday, away at the Raygar Stadium against Belper Town.
