EVO-STIK League graduate Scott Hogan completed a reported £750,000 move from Rochdale to Championship side Brentford on Monday morning, writes Jez Sayle.
The 22-year-old was released by Rochdale in 2010 after coming through the ranks at the newly promoted League One club. He subsequently spent time at Woodley Sports, Halifax Town, Mossley on loan and Stocksbridge Park Steels before joining Ashton United in the October 2012.
A powerful and pacy forward or winger, Hogan immediately caught the eye at Hurst Cross playing in the EVO-STIK League's top flight and was invited to Kidderminster Harriers for a trial in early 2013 before being snapped up Ashton's neighbours Hyde just before the transfer deadline.
Hogan moved on to Spotland after completing the 2013-14 season at Ewen Fields. Pictured playing for Ashton United against Stocksbridge Park Steels in November 2012, he netted the first of his 19 goals in 40 appearances on his debut - the opening day of the season - and also scored in a Third Round FA Cup tie win over Leeds United in January 2014.
Peterborough tried to secure his services in the January transfer window but Hogan stayed on to help Rochdale secure promotion to League One, earning a place in the League Two 'Team of the Year' as recognition of his contribution with 17 goals in 33 league outings.
