Ossett pull off Greaves coup

Ossett United have signed FC United record goalscorer Tom Greaves from Hyde United.

Greaves, 33, left his role as player-manager at Broadhurst Park earlier this season, having scored 103 goals in 274 appearances.

He has been in the goals at Hyde in the EVO-STIK League Premier Division too, but now drops down to join East Division side Ossett.

Manager Andy Welsh said: “Tom is a great player and someone I have personally played alongside. He knows the game and he will fit straight into our team. We are very excited to see him in action.”

Greaves was with FC United from 2012, but earlier in his career did turn out for Ossett Town, as well as Bradford Park Avenue, Bridlington and Garforth.
