Droylsden's Dave Pace has thanked Worksop Town for the aid they gave Ben Shawcross after he was badly injured during Saturday's Evo-Stik Northern Premier League clash at Sandy Lane.

The defender was stretchered off 15 minutes into the 3-0 Premier Division win for the Tigers with a suspected broken leg but was later given the all clear and released from hospital after tests.

Shawcross was replaced by Ryan Hibbert and Pace, pictured, hailed Town's officials for their swift response and help on the pitch when the worst was feared.

The Bloods' Chairman and manager said: "I'd like to go on record to express our sincere thanks to all at Worksop Town for all the assistance they gave us and Ben. Thankfully, his leg is sore but not broken and they were excellent throughout."
