Patterson, 34, was released on the eve of the league campaign having apparently refused to come as a substitute in an FA Cup defeat to Melton Town.
That game was Worksop’s first competitive defeat since December 2018 and ended a run of 22 consecutive wins.
The defender played 42 times last season in helping the Tigers to the league title and promotion to the NPL.
They have won two of their five league games so far this season, but lost 1-0 at home to Kidsgrove on Saturday - with Patterson coming on as a first half substitute for Steven Wankiewicz.
