Paul Smith makes shock Halesowen return

Paul Smith has been named as the new manager of Halesowen Town.

Smith only stepped down from the role five months ago, citing personal reasons for his initial departure.

At the time, the Yeltz were top of the Pitching In NPL Midlands Division.

He was replaced by assistants Craig Nicholls and Martin Sockett, but the club have won just one of their last five league matches, leaving them nine points adrift of current league leaders Stamford.

Nicholls and Sockett parted ways with the club in the wake of last Saturday's 1-0 defeat at home to Shepshed Dynamo, paving the way for Smith to return.

"I’m fresh, focused and ready," he said following his return.

"The goal remains the same as it has been all season, and we will work as hard as we can to try and achieve that promotion."
