Pitmen supporters plan Christmas celebration

"Supporters' Association Day" planned for Northwich clash.

The Hednesford Town Football Club Supporters Association are gearing up for a busy Christmas period over the next six weeks as they prepare their inaugural Christmas party and designated match day to celebrate their first calendar year in existence.

The Association have designated Saturday December 10th as SA Day when the Chase Suite at Keys Park, prior top of the table clash versus Northwich Victoria, will be the centre for all supporters to see what the SA has to say and, more importantly, sign up for their annual subscription.

The fee is £10 to join for a calendar year and, among other things, membership gives supporters 10% off club merchandise, on production of a valid membership card, and the opportunity to have their say on a range of matters from goal of the month to the colour of the away replica shirt.

On the evening of the 10th , the Association are again taking over the Chase Suite but this time are asking for the support of fans of the Club, members and non-members alike, to join them for a Race Night where all involved can bet on horse racing on the big screen. Entry is free to members and £3 for non-members with under-16’s admitted for free.

Association Joint Chairman, Scott Smith, is excited that the day will demonstrate to those Hednesford fans, perhaps unaware of the hard work done by the Association for the good of the Club, and also provide a night for fans to get together and enjoy the racing on offer.

‘We have done a great job of helping to increase the involvement and visibility of the Club within the area since our inception in December of last year but SA Day is really about the Supporters Association showing those fans yet to get on board how they can help the Club by getting involved.’

‘Since we launched last year we have had many successes including assisting the Club in purchasing a new club shop, to hosting our first Family Day and with more people on board we can’t help but improve the fortunes of Hednesford Town.’

Club Secretary Terry MacMahon, praised the Association and the important work it had carried out in its first year, mindful of how supporters have now been given a voice at the Club. ‘It’s great to see a collection of fans, young and old, working so hard for Hednesford Town with the sole strategy being to improve the fortunes of The Pitmen.’

As always the Supporters Association are always looking for volunteers, sponsors and spare pairs of hands to assist with anything from stewarding on match days, selling Pitmen Prize Draw tickets or distributing fixtures, and all involved with the Association implore Pitmen fans to get involved on December 10th during the day and on the evening. The Chase Suite will be open from 1.30pm before kick-off and again from 7.30pm in the evening.
