Sports turf specialists and official pitch partners GreenFields are urging clubs to enter the EVO-STIK League's inaugural Pitch of the Year Awards in their fifth newsletter of the season.

Packed with the latest news, tips and insights on tending to grass and artificial turf surfaces, the latest digital newsletter focusing on getting pitches ready for Spring and the final month of the historic fiftieth anniversary 2017-18 season started dropping into the in-boxes of all 68 clubs on Friday afternoon.

GreenFields are looking forward to handing out the EVO-STIK League’s inaugural Pitch of the Year Awards at the end of the campaign after being appointed last summer as the official pitch partners of the Northern Premier League.

Launched to reward the best playing surfaces in all three divisions, the winners will unveiled at June’s annual end of season awards night in Blackpool after clubs finish nominating the top three grass surfaces in their respective divisions before the deadline for the online survey on Friday 16 March.

The short-listed grounds will then be visited by experts from GreenFields who will take into account a number of factors including maintenance resources, geographic location, existing irrigation and the amount of pitch usage before choosing the winners.

As well as the honour of being the first recipients of the new accolades, representatives from the three clubs will also be presented with £500 vouchers to redeem against future maintenance materials or services from the EVO-STIK League’s official pitch partners.

GreenFields marketing manager Louise Henderson said: "With just over two months to go until the end of the season we would also like to invite all NPL clubs to vote for their top two pitches in their specific leagues and more information on the Pitch of the Year Award is included in the current newsletter.

"Our fifth newsletter of this season includes guidance on how to deal with the current bout of cold weather. We have also included some advice on planning and scheduling your end of season renovations as this is something that all clubs will no doubt now be starting to think about."

The EVO-STIK League teamed up with GreenFields to provide clubs with surface solutions to meet the growing demand for 3G and hybrid turf pitches, as well as advice on maintaining grass surfaces.

To vote in the awards, simply click on the following link http://louise218.typeform.com/to/amofbx and complete the online survey with your two top pitches. The deadline for the survey and poll is Friday 16 March and any entries after that date will not be counted.
