Pontefract appoint Monkhouse

Pontefract Collieries have appointed Andy Monkhouse as their new manager.

Monkhouse, 39, played more than 300 games in the Football League and lists Rotherham United, Swindon Town, Hartlepool United, Bristol Rovers, Grimsby Town, Alfreton Town and Whitby Town amongst his former clubs.

He has also recently played for Tadcaster Albion and Ossett United in the NPL.

A UEFA B licence holder, Monkhouse is working towards his UEFA A qualification and has worked at Rotherham as academy coach.

The Colls moved quickly to replace Craig Parry who, along with the rest of his management team, left the club recently to join Worksop Town.
