Premier Division preview: Matlock Town look to continue impressive form

Matlock Town have won four of their last five fixtures in the Premier Division, and this weekend host FC United of Manchester.

The Gladiators sit second in the table, just two points behind unbeaten South Shields, while FC United sit in 11th spot and go into the weekend following a 6-0 home win over Scarborough Athletic.

Elsewhere in the division, South Shields travel to Nantwich Town, who have recorded four wins so far this season.

Paul Carden’s Warrington Town will be looking to bounce back from their midweek 3-2 defeat to Basford, despite going 2-0 up at Cantilever Park, as they travel to Ashton United. Michael Clegg recently added striker Jordan Hulme to his squad, who could make his debut at Hurst Cross this Saturday.

Lancaster City sit in eighth spot and host Gainsborough Trinity, while Mickleover travel to Scarborough Athletic.

Stalybrigde Celtic have won three of their last five fixtures, including last weekend’s 5-2 victory at home over FC United of Manchester, and this week host Stafford Rangers.

Finally, Witton Albion face Grantham Town at Wincham Park.
