Premier Division round-up: Big freeze causes fixture chaos

By James Gordon

Freezing temperatures and snowy conditions caused the postponement of all 11 Northern Premier League fixtures on Saturday afternoon.

Upon looking at the forecast, many clubs made the decision to postpone their fixtures in the 24 hours leading up to kick-off.

The final fixture set to go ahead, between Morpeth Town and Warrington Town at Craik Park, was called off around an hour before kick-off.

Across the four NPL divisions, only five matches were played.

In the West Division, Macclesfield extended their lead at the top of the table to six points with a 4-0 win at home to struggling Ramsbottom United.

In the Midlands Division, Shepshed Dynamo, Sporting Khalsa and Halesowen Town were all victorious, with Bedworth United and Daventry Town playing out a goalless draw.
