Despite the Brig seeing Nathan Pond sent off with 20 minutes remaining, it was they who netted a last-gasp winner at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium, courtesy of a fine free-kick from Fin Sinclair-Smith.
That result leaves Bamber Bridge second in the league, and they could move to within six points of the Mariners if they win their game in hand against Morpeth Town on Tuesday night.
At Northolme, Gainsborough Trinity and Warrington Town - two of the other sides fighting for promotion - played out an entertaining 1-1 draw.

Bottom-of-the-table Belper Town’s 2-0 win over Atherton Collieries means they still have a slim chance of surviving the drop, with late goals from Jerome Greaves and Charlie Reaney enough for three points.
