Whitby Town's winning streak game to an end over the weekend against Matlock Town.
The Blues enjoyed a long eight-game winning streak in all competitions before hosting Matlock Town, who dominated the longest serving members of the BetVictor Northern Premier with a 3-0 scoreline.
Goals from Daniel Bramall, Luke Hinsley and Marcus Marshall secured the league points for the Gladiators on a day to forget for Whitby.
“The lads are naturally disappointed,” defender Bradley Mills told the club's official website.
“Having won eight in a row it was flat in the dressing room due to the disappointment.
“I just want to look ahead and begin preparations for a big FA Cup next week.”
The result meant that South Shields were able to extend their lead at the top of the BetVictor Northern Premier League table.
The Mariners travelled to Buxton and thanks to goals from Jon Shaw and a late winner from Lee Mason, the club took a 2-1 victory despite the hosts taking a 1-0 lead in the first half.
Paul Carden's Warrington Town travelled to Flamingo Land Stadium to face Scarborough Athletic, with the sides sharing the spoils with a 1-1 draw.
Scott Sephton scored his first goal for the Yellows, but the lead lasted only two minutes with Joseph Malkin scoring the equaliser for the home side.
FC United of Manchester went into their fixture with Bamber Bridge with just two league wins, whilst a win for Brig would have seen them leapfrogged their oppositions in the table.
However, it was Neil Reynolds’ side that took a 1-0 victory thanks to a goal from Tunda Owalabi in the 57th minute.
It was goals galore at Ewen Fields, with four in the first 30 minutes between Hyde United and Ashton United. There were a total of six goals in the end with a 3-3 scoreline, with goals from Daniel Turner and a Liam Tongue double for the hosts, whilst Steven Tames, Chris Rowney and Josh Wilson scored for The Robins.
A late goal from Simon Russell helped Gainsborough Trinity to a 2-2 draw with Mickleover Sports, whilst teammate Ashley Worsfold also scored for the The Holy Blues. Lee Hughes opened the scoring for Mickleover, whilst Max Watters added the second.
Grantham Town jumped to sixth with a dominate performance over Radcliffe at South Kesteven Sports Stadium. It was the perfect performance, with four goals and a clean sheet for the hosts. An own goal from Matt Hughes opened the floodgates, with Tom Ward, Andrew Wright and Bernard Zoko scoring.
Stafford Rangers took an early lead against Morpeth Town thanks to a goal in the 10th minute from Joseph Berks, searching for their first league win of the season. However, the home side equalised through Wayne Phillips in the 40th minute, with a scoreless second half.
Finally, Witton Albion hosted Staybridge Celtic in a mid-table clash, with the visitors taking the three points with a 1-0 scoreline thanks to a goal from Craig Hobson.
