Prescot Cables get their man in Bamba

By James Gordon

Prescot Cables have announced the capture of long-term target Seydou Bamba.

It’s no secret that the club made an approach for Bamba last season but the timing of the deal didn’t really work out for player or club.

Admired by manager Craig Davies, Seydou is an experienced versatile defender who leads by example on and off the pitch. He can play both left back and centre back. His previous clubs include Kendal Town and Clitheroe.

Bamba said: “I joined the club as it's an ambitious club that wants to compete. I have played against Prescot a few times now and they have always been a difficult team to play against.

"Having spoken to the manager and hearing what he wants to build, it's something I want to be involved in. This is a challenge for me and one that I'm looking forward to face. Hopefully I do my part to help the team succeed."

Manager Craig Davies commented: "Seydou is somebody I’ve admired since I was appointed as the manager. He’s another leader, he is ambitious and has great quality long with his experience.

"We made an attempt to sign him last season but it wasn’t the right time for Seydou to come over. We are delighted he’s decided to agree to come over and we can’t wait to have him as part of our dressing room."
