Currently second in the NWCFL's Premier Division and five points behind leaders Runcorn Linnets with two games in hand, the Lancashire club's delighted officials have announced that their XLCR Stadium has passed its ground grading criteria for the EVO-STIK NPL.
The news follows a grading inspection earlier in the season and The Reds rectifying a number of issues to be passed fit and ensure there are no obstacles to possible promotion.
Colne chairman Shaun O'Neill, who thanked the volunteers who spent their evenings and weekends getting the stadium up to standard in recent months in a club statement on Friday, added: "A special mention must go to vice-chairman and groundsman Richard Harries who has worked tirelessly on the pitch and off the pitch to ensure the ground made the grade.
"He's missed our away games to ensure he could work on the ground without any interruptions. He's never away from the place and a real credit to the club."
Founded in 1996, under manager Steve Cunningham, Colne are bidding to play at the highest level in their history next term after securing a fourth placed finish last season.
