Nantwich Town will be without midfield duo Chris Flynn and Josh Lane for Tuesday night's Evo-Stik Northern Premier League clash at home to Rushall Olympic, writes Robert Summerscales.

Former skipper Flynn, pictured, left the Weaver Stadium on Monday to rejoin his former club and Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division rivals Stafford Rangers. Lane is suspended for the Pics fixture following his red card against Matlock Town on Saturday.

The Dabbers lost 1-0 at home to the Gladiators after manager Jimmy Quinn handed starts to four new signings – Charlie Raglan, Chris Jones, Aaron Cole and Jason Oswell – and the quartet are all expected to feature again.

Quinn is hopeful that his new look team can quickly gel to end a run of four consecutive defeats following the weekend's reverse.

He said: "We need to keep believing in ourselves. We have had a few personnel changes recently and I think one or two of the new lads needed that game [against Matlock on Saturday]. If you can get that first game under your belt and get used to your teammates and the surroundings then usually the second game is much better."

Flynn, 25, arrived at the Weaver Stadium in the summer of 2009 and said he wished he'd left for Marston Road after being able to help the Dabbers achieve their promotion ambitions.

The midfielder, who moved on after failing to hold down a regular berth in Quinn's side due to work commitments, said: "After a lot of thought and consideration I have decided now is the right time for me to move on. I would like to thank everyone at the club for making the past four seasons so enjoyable for me. I have some fantastic memories, mainly winning the Cheshire Senior Cup and our run in the FA Cup, although I was suspended for the MK Dons game.

"I was always very proud to be the captain of such a fantastic club when I got the chance and my biggest regret is that I haven't been able to achieve promotion with the club. However, I am sure this will be achieved in the near future and I would also like to thank Jimmy Quinn, who is a fantastic manager."

Nantwich Chairman Jon Gold paid tribute to their former captain. "Chris has been a model professional and has made a massive contribution during his time here," he said.

"I am sure that his efforts will remain long in the memories of all our supporters. We appreciate that it has become difficult for him recently to dedicate the time needed to train and play for Nantwich every week. We would like to wish him the very best of luck for the future."
