Jimmy Quinn has left the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League's Nantwich Town by 'mutual agreement'.

The former Northern Ireland international left the club at lunchtime on Friday following Thursday night's 3-1 Doodson Sport Cup Fourth Round defeat to Curzon Ashton at the Weaver Stadium.

The Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division outfit say assistant manager Phil Staley is set to take charge on a temporary basis until Quinn's successor is appointed. His work starts on Saturday with a trip to Stocksbridge Park Steels.

Nantwich Town Chairman Jon Gold said: "Unfortunately results this season, especially at home, have been very disappointing and well below the expectations of both the board and our supporters.

"We are extremely appreciative of the contribution that Jimmy has made to our club and I know the successes that he and the team delivered last season in qualifying for the First Round Proper of the FA Cup for the first time in the club's history and also in winning the Cheshire Senior Cup, will live long in the memory of every Nantwich Town Supporter. But sadly this season's results have failed to replicate this, or offer the stability needed for the future development and success of the club."
