The talented midfielder becomes the club’s first signing of the new year.
Beginning his career at youth level with Oldham Athletic, Brewster has enjoyed spells at multiple clubs across the non-league scene, including the likes of FC United of Manchester, Southport and Marine.
He also had a short stint in Scotland with Scottish Premiership outfit St Mirren.
The former Robins captain has played a major role for the club during the 2022/23 season, featured 20 times in total.
Discussing his move to Boro, Brewster said: “After speaking to the gaffer, he made his ambitions clear and it matched that of mine.
“I’m confident I can deliver what he’s expecting of me and hopefully collectively we can deliver on that as well.
“I like to chip in with a couple of goals here or there. I can bring energy, enthusiasm, tenacity, as well as getting about the pitch to win the ball back, giving it to the creative players to go and do the business.
“Bobby made it clear to me that this is the place that I wanted to come to, and I'm really excited to be a part of it moving forward.”
