Rangers land Alex keeper

The Evo-Stik Northern Premier League's Stafford Rangers have signed 19-year-old goalkeeper Ben Garratt on a month's loan from League One oufit Crewe Alexandra.

The highly-rated keeper has been with Crewe for a number of years and is rated as one of the most talented Academy keepers the club has ever had.

Garratt has been a regular in the England Under 16s and 17s squads over the last two seasons and was part of the Under 17s side who challenged for the World Cup in Mexico last summer.

He is still behind senior keepers Steve Phillips and Alan Martin in the pecking order at Gresty Road and had yet to make his first-team bow ahead of his switch to the Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division until mid-March.
