Curzon Ashton say they're looking foward to breaking more club records this season after their stunning 8-1 win over Maltby Main in the FA Cup last Saturday.

The First Qualifying Round result was their biggest ever win in the FA Cup and was also the first time in nearly three decades that the Evo-Stik NPL First Division North outfit have scored eight goals in a game. Their reward is a home tie against Bradford Park Avenue on Saturday week.

An 8-1 win last happened back in 1985 when they were playing in a North West Counties Division One match against Penrith.

In total, Saturday's win is the the sixth time Curzon have won a game 8-1 with five of their victories coming at home. Curzon have now scored more than 400 cup goals in all competitions during their two spells in the Evo-Stik NPL.

Having broken all kinds of records last season, John Flanagan's team continues to re-write Curzon's history with Kristian Dennis becoming only the third player ever to score five in a game during the 6-0 league win over Garforth in August.

Dennis has now eclipsed the best ever start by a Curzon striker. His 13 goals in eight games obliterating the previous records as no player has ever scored more than a goal a game average over the same number of fixtures from the start of a season.
