Robins handed cup lifeline

Ilkeston FC have moved their Monday night Derbyshire Senior Cup Quarter Final back 24 hours to clear the ground of remaining snow and ice.

The Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Robins are due to take on Heanor Town and the Derbyshire FA have agreed to let them play the clash on Tuesday night instead so ground staff have more time to clear the pitch, surrounding terracing and public areas of remaining patches of ice and snow.

Ilkeston Secretary Andrew Raisin thanked the county and Evo-Stik NPL at lunchtime on Monday for agreeing to put the fixture back.

He said: "We had spoken to the Derbyshire FA in advance about the ground and possiblility of moving it because of the weather we've had. The ground staff are working on a few frozen patches of the pitch and surrounding areas and the game will definitely go ahead now on Tuesday."
