Forever part of the club's history after scoring the goal which knocked full-timers Exeter City out of the FA Cup two seasons ago in front of Match of the Day's live TV cameras at a packed Cantilever Park, the 34-year-old was named on Monday as new manager Paul Carden completed his touchline team following the appointment of ex-Yellows striker Mark Beesley as first-team coach last week.
Robinson, who left the club to continue his playing career at near-neighbours Trafford, is hanging up his boots and will be alongside Carden and Beesley on the touchline for the first time on Saturday when the Wire travel to Stafford Rangers in the EVO-STIK NPL's top flight.
The defender stepped up previously to work alongside former joint managers Stuart Mellish and Lee Smith in a coaching role and Warrington Town chairman Toby Macormac is delighted to welcome him back into the club's fold.
He said: "Craig is the final piece of the jig-saw with our staff changes and one which will add further leadership and knowledge at our level of the game. With all the management team now in place we can now push forward and make any necessary changes to the line up to take us forward and hopefully make up some ground to achieve a play-off position come April. There is still a lot of football to be played this season."
