Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Chorley are hoping that having three former Blackburn Rovers legends on stage at the same time will help pull in a big crowd to Victory Park later this month.
The Premier Division leaders announced in Thursday that assistant manager Matt Jansen would be hosting a ‘Night with the Stars’ at Victory Park on Thursday April 24 alongside his former Rovers teammates Michael Gray and Andy Todd.
Ex-Premier League referee Mark Halsey will also join the star-studded panel, along with ex-Hoghton Weavers funny man Norman Prince who is compering the evening.
Winger Gray retired from football in 2010. Now 39, he spent his final season at Sheffield Wednesday. Todd, also 39, retired last year after a career as a tough defender that took him as far away as Perth Gory in Australia.
Jansen, pictured, is three years younger than the pair at 36 and keeps in touch with both players. He reckons the legends event won’t be short of ‘banter’ once the three of them get together on stage and the fans start getting involved.
Jansen said: "It promises to be a cracking night and I'm really looking forward to having some banter with Mickey and Toddy. We still meet up socially from time to time and the banter always flies so I'm sure it will be an entertaining evening."
Doors open at 7.30pm. Admission £5, including a pie and peas supper. For more information please call 01257 230007.
