Evo-Stik NPL First Division North

There were just a couple of games in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division North on Saturday due to FA Cup ties, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

But in the game at Stainton Park, Harrogate Railway Athletic recorded their first win of the season against previously unbeaten Radcliffe Borough.

David Ward eventually broke the deadlock by giving 'Rail a 72nd minute lead that Alex Hallam doubled less than 10 minutes later.

All Boro could manage in reply was an 89th minute effort from Tom Brooks.

The other game saw Mossley move into second place in the table after a 2-1 Seel Park win over Goole AFC.

Recent signing Bill Law gave the Vikings the boost of an early fifth minute lead that Ben Richardson cancelled out in the 26th minute.

And the home side scored what proved to be the winner three minutes before half-time, courtesy of Sam Madeley.
