A healthy crowd of 371 turned up at the Harry Williams Riverside Stadium to see the game between Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division North leaders Mossley and fellow high-flyers Ramsbottom United, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

And they saw Mossley increase their advantage at the top to eight points after a 2-1 success in which Sam Madeley gave them a great start with a goal inside the opening two minutes. Jon Robinson equalised for Rammy after 26 minutes, but Adam Mather grabbed what proved to be the visitors` winner after 33 minutes.

Clitheroe are second after beating Curzon Ashton by the same scoreline at home.

Danny Mahoney's 22nd minute opener for the home side looked to be enough. And then Danny Bell added a second for the Blues two minutes from time, rendering Lee Blackshaw's last minute reply a consolation.

Farsley FC are up to fourth after a 3-0 win over struggling Yorkshire rivals Wakefield, with Adam Priestley bagging a brace in the 30th and 45th minutes and Ryan Watson the third on 64 minutes.

Pride of place in this division though must go to Garforth Town, who finally won for the first time in sixteen matches – and away from home too – earning a surprise 4-1 win at Cantilever Park against Warrington Town.

Miles Smith gave the Yorkshire visitors a 15th minute lead and by half-time they were three-up with further strikes from Fernando Moke on 25 minutes and Brett Mbalanda 11 minutes later. Dan Sheriffe added a fourth for Garforth after 57 minutes, with a shocked Wire netting an 88th minute consolation from Adam Flynn.

Another struggler, Harrogate Railway Athletic, also gained a useful 2-0 Station View win over Salford City with goals from Liam Hardy in the 52nd minute and Danny Hull just past the hour-mark.

Burscough won 2-1 at home to Ossett Albion, who are now fourth-bottom after a Will Jones brace in the 57th and 89th minutes cancelled out Henry Owen's 35th minute opener for Albion.

Second-bottom Goole FC lost again, this time 3-1 at the Victoria Pleasure Grounds against a previously out-of-form Lancaster City, for whom Darren Green and Danny Gregson gave them a 2-0 half-time lead that Rob Wilson added to after 72 minutes, with Dean Sidebottom replying seven minutes from time for the Vikings.

The game between Radcliffe Borough and Bamber Bridge ended all-square with Andy Bell giving Brig a 15th minute lead that Laquan Esdaille levelled five minutes before the break. Immediately after half-time Tom Brooks gave Boro the lead, only for Ali Waddecar to level and earn Brig a point after 56 minutes.
