Mossley's lead at the top of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division North table was reduced to six points after Warrington Town secured a well-earned point in a goalless draw at the Abacus Solicitors Community Stadium on Saturday, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Clitheroe reduced the arrears after beating Prescot Cables 2-0 at home with goals from Chris Mason after 39 minutes and then Scott Bakkor right at the end of the game.

Skelmersdale United were involved in FA Trophy action, so Trafford and Farsley AFC took advantage to take closer order behind them.

Trafford won 3-0 at home against inconsistent Lancaster City with goals from Kamahl Wright after seven minutes and a Martyn Andrews double in the 70th and 89th minutes.

Farsley beat Radcliffe Borough 2-0 at Throstle Nest with goals from Brice Tiani after nine minutes and Dave Stead on 33 minutes.

New Mills also remain in top five contention after a 3-0 success at Burscough where Carlos Meakin broke the deadlock right on half-time from the penalty spot. James Hampson added a second 15 minutes from time, with Meakin;s second successful spot-kick rounding things off at the death.

Curzon Ashton moved level on points with seventh-placed hosts Ramsbottom United after beating them by the odd goal in seven – thanks to Kristian Dennis, who bagged all four.

Grant Spencer actually gave Rammy a fourth minute lead but by the time Lee Gaskell scored their second six minutes into the second half, Dennis had already notched a hat-trick.

Dennis scored his and Curzon's fourth just past the hour-mark and Phil Dean's penalty made it 3-4 with 15 minutes to go, but they couldn`t find a leveller.

Ossett Albion lost 2-0 away at Salford City – but they scored both goals for the 'Ammiers – with own goals from Richard Tracey after just five minutes and Tyrone Gay five minutes before the break.

Wakefield again let a lead slip towards the end of the game in thick fog at Station View against Harrogate Railway Athletic as Nathan Cartman netted on 86 minutes following Lee Turner's opener on 52 minutes for Wakefield.

Cammell Laird came away from the Victoria Pleasure Grounds with a 2-0 success against second-bottom Goole AFC, thanks to an own goal from Sam Liversedge in the eighth minute and a Mike Grogan effort 13 minutes from time.
