Curzon Ashton maintained their two-point lead at the top of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division North table after a 1-0 success at play-off chasing Bamber Bridge, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Luke Horrocks proved to be the visitors' hero at Irongate with the only goal of the game in the 26th minute.

Substitute Ash Ruane scored deep in injury-time to save second-placed Warrington Town`s blushes at bottom of the table Ossett Albion.

Ciaran Kilheeney gave Warrington the lead after 19 minutes but Ossett kept the scoreline to just 1-0 at the break. The home side, with just two wins all season, looked dangerous on the break and with the game opening up eventually drew level on 67 minutes when Ben Grech-Brooksbank fired home. Then, with time running out and deep in injury-time, Ruane tapped in from close range much to the delight of the travelling fans.

Third-placed Farsley FC were also made to fight for their win at Cammell Laird.

Aiden Savory gave the Yorkshire side a 17th minute lead that Matt Dempsey doubled six minutes later. Craig Cairns reduced the deficit 10 minutes after half-time, only for Lee Ellington to restore Farsley`s two-goal cushion 10 minutes later. A Dempsey own goal in the last minute made for a nervy finale, but the visitors held on for the spoils.

Darlington 1883 had a much more comfortable afternoon in front of a crowd of 1,016 at a muddy Heritage Park, made playable thanks to great work by supporters.

The Quakers` seventh win in eight started when Stephen Thompson gave them the lead on seven minutes. It was 2-0 on 18 minutes through Dave Dowson before Amar Purewal added the third with a close-range header seven minutes later.

The Quakers' momentum continued and two goals inside three minutes in the second half from Thompson and Purewal made it 5-0. Sub Nathan Fisher finished off the scoring in the 83rd minute.

Lancaster City moved level on points with fifth-placed Bamber Bridge after a 2-1 Giant Axe win against Harrogate Railway Athletic.

Tom Kilifin gave the Dolly Blues a 40th minute lead that Nathan Cartman cancelled out right on half-time. But Jordan Connerton scored the only goal of the second period in the 58th minute to win it for the home side.

Ramsbottom United are eight points adrift of Lancaster, but possess three games in hand after edging out Northwich Victoria by the odd goal in seven at Flixton.

Ashley Stott gave Vics an early fourth minute lead that Grant Spencer levelled from the penalty spot on the quarter-hour mark. Darren Green then put Rammy ahead six minutes later and Lee Gaskell increased that to 3-1 with eight minutes of the first half remaining. But goals from Gary Burnett on 66 minutes and then Michael Clarke 6 minutes later pulled Vics back on level terms, only for Chris Denham to win it for a Rammy side who, only a few seasons back were four divisions lower than their hosts, in the 88th minute.

Radcliffe Borough are back in second-bottom spot after they lost 3-1 at Seel Park against Mossley AFC and Wakefield drew against Kendal Town.

Boro actually took a sixth minute lead through Aden Wainwright, only for Wayne Welbeck to equalise two minutes later. Then Dean Warburton on 78 minutes and a Dougie Carroll penalty a couple of minutes from time sealed Mossley's victory.

Warren Beattie had Kendal in front after eight minutes and then Will Bell on 22 minutes and Daniel Coid three minutes after half-time gave the Cumbrians a 3-0 lead. But Wakefield Town took advantage of Kendal going into cruise control and hit back in the final 18 minutes with three goals from Lee Turner, in-demand Ron Bordman and Joe Turfrey to snatch an unlikely draw.

Elsewhere, Salford City won 1-0 at Padiham, thanks to a 15th minute Stuart Cook effort, while Ossett Town won 2-1 at Burscough, courtesy of James Eyles after nine minutes and Luke Sharry on 65 minutes after Michael Brown had equalised a minute into the second half.
