Warrington Town are back on top of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division table after they beat third-bottom Wakefield and overnight leaders Curzon Ashton's game was postponed on Saturday, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Warrington had a great start, taking a fourth minute lead through Ben Wharton, but it took two goals in two minutes just after the hour-mark from Scott Metcalfe and Carlos Meakin to settle the nerves, with Liam Dawson adding a fourth a couple of minutes from time.

Two early goals were enough to see Farsley FC notch their ninth win in ten games as goals from Robbie O’Brien after three minutes and an own goal from Daniel Grimshaw 10 minutes later were enough to see them secure a 2-1 home victory over New Mills.

Goals from new signing Joe Tait after seven minutes and Stephen Thompson a minute before half-time gave fourth-placed Darlington an eighth win in nine games in front of a bumper crowd at Harrogate Railway Athletic. The attendance of 1,026 was dominated by Darlington fans and they saw the promotion-chasers record victory.

Fifth and sixth-placed sides Bamber Bridge and Lancaster City had their games postponed but Ramsbottom United – with games in hand – moved into seventh spot after a 3-1 win at the Riverside against Mossley AFC.

Lee Gaskell gave Rammy a 10th minute lead that Richard Bennett eventually cancelled out after 65 minutes. Jordan Hulme restored the home side's lead with 12 minutes to go, and Chris Denham made sure with a third in the 83rd minute.

Bottom-markers Ossett Albion recorded their first win since October 16th with a surprise 2-0 win at mid-table Clitheroe. Kurtis Noble gave Albion a 21st minute lead that Ben Grech-Brooksbank doubled seven minutes into the second half.

To make it a rare Ossett `double` this season, Town won 3-1 at home to Padiham. And they had to come back from being a 27th minute James Blackburn goal down to win, thanks to goals from Callum Ward after 31 minutes, Fernando Moke five minutes after half-time and Chris Wood right at the end.

Pity Porya Ahmadi, who scored a hat-trick for Salford City, yet ended on the losing side at Moor Lane against Burscough!

He gave the Ammies a 36th minute lead that Jordan Williams cancelled out almost immediately. A Paul Williams penalty four minutes after the break gave the Linnets the lead that Williams added to on the hour-mark. But Ahmadi`s double in the 71st and 76th minutes restored parity, until Williams completed his own hat-trick in stoppage time to win it for the visitors.

The game between Kendal Town and Cammell Laird ended all-square at 2-2. However, for the second week running Kendal were the victims of a late comeback as debutant Phil Mooney scored a stoppage-time leveller for Laird.

After a goalless first-half, Maison McGeechan netted twice in quick succession on 65 and 67 minutes before Freddie Potter’s spot-kick reduced the arrears on 71 minutes and Mooney grabbed his last-gasp equaliser.
