Coalville Town extended their lead at the top of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South table to eleven points on Saturday, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

The Ravens beat third-placed Sutton Coldfield Town, while second-placed Stamford AFC went down to a 1-0 defeat at Kettering Road to mid-table Leek Town.

Coalville entertained Sutton Coldfield at Owen Street and won 2-0 with late goals from Ryan Robbins after 81 minutes and David Leigh in stoppage time. But the Daniels went down to a last-gasp Tim Sanders effort for Leek.

No mistake for Belper Town, who moved into fourth above King's Lynn Town, who were in FA Trophy action, after a 5-0 Christchurch Meadow success against Market Drayton Town.

Richard Adams and Simon Harrison put the Nailers two-up with goals within a minute of each other midway through the first half, with Shaun Tuton adding a third right on half-time. Glynn Cotton and Harrison again added further strikes in the 52st and 58th minutes respectively to make it nap for the hosts.

On a heavy pitch at Marston Road, Gresley FC remain in play-off contention after sharing a 2-2 draw with Northwich Victoria.

Jordan Nadat gave the Moatmen a 20th minute lead that Joe Bunney cancelled out in the first minute of the second period. A penalty from Royce Turville restored the visitors lead with 15 minutes to go, only for Scott Harries to ensure a share of the points for the hosts a couple of minutes later.

Brigg Town's push for the play-offs continues to gather momentum after a 3-0 win against Carlton Town at the Hawthorns.

The Zebras scorers were Liam Davis after 27 minutes, Danny Buttle from the spot on 34 and Ryan Paczkowski with 20 minutes to go. Ben Haseley netted all three goals as Halesowen Town won at Sheffield FC and also keep their top five hopes alive. Haseley's goals came in the fourth, 47th and 68th minutes.

Rainworth Miners Welfare and Loughborough Dynamo couldn't find a goal between them, while Newcastle Town won 2-1 at Ashby Avenue against Lincoln United with goals from Andy Nicholls and Kyle Diskin in the final quarter after Ben Garrick had given the hosts a 63rd minute lead.

Chasetown eased past basement outfit Hucknall Town with goals from Nick Wellecomme after ten minutes, Simon Brown from twelve yards on 27 minutes and a brace from Gary Hay in the 51st and 84th minutes.

Kidsgrove Athletic and Mickleover Sports shared a 1-1 draw in the Potteries, the visitors leading through Martyn Smyth's 42nd minute goal until seven minutes from time when James Curley equalised.
