Coalville Town's dip in form has come at the wrong time after a second successive draw saw King's Lynn Town pull level on points with the Ravens, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

The Ravens still possess a game in hand but were held 1-1 at Kettering Road by play-off chasing Stamford AFC, whose Ricky Miller gave them the lead two minutes before half-time. Jerome Murdoch rescued a point for the leaders 11 minutes from time.

Lynn did their part by winning 2-0 at The Walks in front of a crowd of 573 against Loughborough Dynamo. Steve Spriggs broke the deadlock for the Linnets three minutes after half-time and then Phil Gulliver added a second four minutes later.

Belper Town are third, six points behind the top two, but with only four games left. But their excellent campaign continued with a 5-0 drubbing of basement side Hucknall Town at Watnall Road. Jon Froggatt helped himself to a hat-trick in the fourth, 52nd and 72nd minutes, sandwiched by efforts from Shaun Tuton on 36 minutes and Richard Adams on 42.

The play-off race below the top three still involves Stamford, who have a nine-point cushion, Sutton Coldfield Town, Chasetown and Halesowen Town.

Sutton Coldfield won 2-1 at The Moat against Gresley FC with goals from Luke Chapman after 44 minutes and well-travelled striker Mark Danks on 64, with Danny Holmes replying for the hosts six minutes from time.

Chasetown beat Carlton Town 5-0 at The Scholars - the heaviest defeat of Les McJannet's reign as manager. The sides went in at half-time separated by a Nick Wellecomme 20th minute goal. After a tight affair for the first hour, the second goal of the game was always going to be telling. It fell to the Scholars as Paul Sullivan outpaced the Millers defence to slot home on 65 minutes, and from then on there was only going to be one outcome.

Chasetown made it 3-0 with eight minutes remaining when Andy Westwood converted from inside the area. They rubbed salt into the visitors` wounds with two further goals in added time from skipper Richard Teesdale and substitute Simon Brown who converted a 95th minute penalty after Grant Brindley was adjudged to have fouled Gary Hay. Brindley receiving his marching orders for a second yellow card to complete a miserable afternoon for Carlton.

Halesowen maintained their outside hopes with a 3-2 win at the Lyme Valley Stadium against Newcastle Town. Tom France put the hosts ahead after just eight minutes but the Yeltz responded with goals from Aaron Griffiths after 32 minutes, Ben Haseley six minutes later and Jean Gueyes five minutes after half-time – with France making it a nervy last half-hour with Castle's second.

Northwich Victoria's late bid for a top five place ended when they were held to a 2-2 Marston Road draw by Sheffield FC, whose Jamie Hadfield bagged a brace in the 72nd and 85th minutes after Alex Taylor on 51 minutes and Josh Amis on 64 had given Vics a 2-0 lead.

At the other end of the table, Romulus extended their unbeaten run to five games with a narrow 1-0 victory over Kidsgrove Athletic at Coles Lane to stay above second-bottom spot. Marcus Brown scored the Roms goal in the 63rd minute.

Mickleover Sports, who are second-bottom, won 3-1 at Ashby Avenue against Lincoln United, who had led through Karl Cunningham's 16th minute effort. Nick Woods equalised on 22 minutes and then a brace of Joe Pheasant goals on 49 and 67 minutes secured Sports' win!

Elsewhere, managerless Market Drayton Town beat Rainworth Miners Welfare 3-1, coming back from a Keiran Wells goal down just before the break to win, thanks to a Neville Thompson spot-kick and goals from Nicky Porter and Dorryl Proffitt.

Leek Town and Brigg Town shared the points in a 1-1 draw in Staffordshire. Paul Grimes' free-kick gave the Zebras the lead in the 57th minute but the home side equalised less than five minutes later.
