Leek Town maintained their superb start to the season with a fifth successive victory on Non-League Day in the EVO-STIK League's First Division South, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Leek won 4-0 on the 3G at Coles Lane against Romulus with goals from Anthony Danylck after nine minutes, Dan Shelley with a brace on 17 and 65 minutes and an Andy Kinsey penalty 20 minutes from the end.

Roms' landlords Sutton Coldfield Town are the only other unbeaten side in the division after a 2-0 success at Newcastle Town, courtesy of goals from Dan O`Callaghan on the half-hour and Reece Leek two minutes after the break.

At the opposite end of the table, Rainworth Miners Welfare, Carlton Town and Kidsgrove Athletic still await their first victories of the 2014-15 campaign.

The Wrens lost 2-1 at home to Chasetown - after Grant Ryan had given them a 15th minute lead, Nathaniel Waite on 41 minutes and Nick Wellecomme on 73 minutes turned it round for the Scholars.

Carlton were edged out 3-2 at Bracken Moor by Stocksbridge Park Steels where all the goals came in the second period – Lee Garside and Martyn Scully putting Steels 2-0 up before Kameron Campbell replied, and then Garside's second five minutes from time sealed it, despite Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe's late reply.

Kidsgrove were on the wrong end of a nap hand by Spalding United at the Sir Halley Stewart Ground. Mitch Griffiths scored the only goal of the opening half and then Lewis Webb, Ashley Burbeary, Jamie Thurlbourne and Andy Tidswell scored to make it 5-0.

The biggest crowd of the day in the division – 684 – saw Stafford Rangers lose 2-0 at Marston Road to Coalville Town, for whom Jake Woolley a minute before the break and Ben Saunders on 68 minutes, were the Ravens' marksmen.

Goole AFC were 3-0 home winners over newcomers Norton United, courtesy of Luke Hinsley and Tyler Williams in the first half and Hinsley again in the second.

Gresley AFC were similarly comfortable 4-1 winners at the Moat against Lincoln United, whose Sean Wright cancelled out Alex Steadman`s 11th minute opener, only for Bradley Wells, Mitch Hanson from the spot and Kieran O`Connell to put the hosts out of sight.

Market Drayton Town earned a welcome 2-1 home win over Brigg Town, thanks to goals from David Harry after 65 minutes and Will Whieldon 10 minutes from time – Josh Nicholl replying a minute from time.

Mickleover Sports inflicted a first defeat on promoted Tividale, winning 3-1 away, with Andrew Dales helping himself to a hat-trick.

Loughborough Dynamo slipped into third place after a 4-1 hammering of Sheffield FC in which Rob Norris bagged a first half brace. Jahmal Smith pulled one back just after half-time only for Nathan Watson and Steve Towers to make it 4-1.
