Halesowen Town maintained their five-point lead at the top of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South table after a narrow 1-0 win against Rainworth Miners Welfare at the Grove, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

In front of a crowd of just over 400, Joe Hull won it for the Yeltz with his 25th minute effort.

Second-placed Leek Town were also given a tough test at Harrison Park by Loughborough Dynamo. Two goals in three minutes shortly after half-time from Tom Grice and a Jordan Johnson penalty won it for the hosts, despite Jarrod Westcarr's late consolation for Dynamo.

Coalville Town, Mickleover Sports and Sutton Coldfield Town complete the play-off places – despite none of them winning on Saturday.

Coalville suffered a rare home defeat by Romulus, whose Craig Marshall gave them a great start with a goal inside the opening minute. Anthony Carney eventually equalised 11 minutes from time, only for Lee Smith to win it for Roms five minutes later.

Mickleover were beaten 1-0 at the Lyme Valley Stadium by a Newcastle Town side who are now level on points with fifth-placed Sutton Coldfield. Tim Sanders was the match-winner for Castle six minutes after half-time.

Sutton Coldfield were held to a 1-1 draw at Coles Lane by Chasetown, whose former striker Gary Hay gave the Royals a 38th minute lead that Paul Sullivan cancelled out from the spot just past the hour-mark.

Belper Town are just a point adrift of the top five after a 5-1 Christchurch Meadow mauling of Goole AFC.

Simon Harrison gave the Nailers a 26th minute lead that Jon Froggatt immediately doubled and then Phil Watt added a third in a six minute spell. Daniel King Bisingu reduced the arrears after 68 minutes, but Mark Ward on 84 minutes and Kieran Wells two minutes later made it a nap hand for Peter Duffield`s side.

Goals from Josh Nichol and a strike in injury-time by Elliot Broughton after Brandon Cardwell had equalised, earned Brigg Town a 2-1 win against Sheffield FC. A dour match at the Hawthorns burst into life in the last 10 minutes with all three goals and a red card for Sheffield's Andy Gascoigne.

Kidsgrove Athletic moved six points clear of the drop zone after beating Gresley FC 2-1 at home with goals from Jordan Johnson and Karl Espley in the final 10 minutes after Kieran O`Connell had given the Moatmen a 74th minute lead.

Lincoln United beat bottom-markers Eastwood Town 3-0 at Ashby Avenue, thanks to goals from Bruno Holden after 38 and 53 minutes and a Danny Brooks spot-kick 17 minutes from time.

The game between Market Drayton Town and Carlton Town ended all-square at 2-2 in Shropshire. But the Nottinghamshire visitors had to come back from 2-0 down after goals from Jake Bennett after 25 minutes and Yannick Makota on 62 for the home side. Billy Bennett on 68 minutes and then Alex Troke with three minutes remaining pulled Carlton back on terms.
