Scholars go goal crazy!

Chasetown

Finding the net at Chasetown could prove harder for opposition sides this season thanks the Evo-Stik NPL First Division South club's supporters.

The Scholars' goalkeeping coach John Birt and keepers Ryan Price and Lee Evans reckon they'll be on top form from now on after taking delivery of one football's latest training gadgets - the Crazy Catch Net.

Used down the road by keepers at both Coventry and West Brom as well as widely elsewhere, the specialist equipment to sharpen the reflexes of keepers was purchased by the Supporters Club to liven up and add variety to training.

Coach Birt was delighted with the new training aid which was presented to the trio by supporters Trevor Youngman and John Franklin, pictured.

The coach said: "It's brilliant and I very much appreciate the Supporters Club buying this for us. Ryan and Lee both agreed it was good for and gave a new approach to working on reflexes."

Supporters Club Chairman Phil Dewes said: "This type of item is the type of equipment we like to purchase as it can be used when coaching all our keepers and not just the first team."
