Scotland tour for Braveheart Blues

Frickley Athletic are heading north of the border this summer to get ready for next season's EVO-STIK League campaign.

A two game tour to Scotland will see the Blues taking on manager Spencer Fearn's old club East Stirlingshire on 5 July and the Civil Service Strollers two days later in Edinburgh. Both clubs play in the Lowland League, the feeder league for the Scottish Football League.

The EVO-STIK League South club's players and staff are also looking forward to staying and training at Stirling University, ranked number one in the country for university sports facilities.

Fearn told fans on Thursday: “We will be heading up north Thursday morning, play the Shire on Thursday and have a recovery session on Friday. This will be followed by the Saturday game and a pint or two Saturday night in Edinburgh."

The Blues boss added: "To have three days of games and training will be great for the players and coaching team as we start the preparations for the next season. Personally, I am really looking forward to going back to see some old friends at East Stirlingshire, a club that I had four wonderful years at.”
