Search is on for successor

Goole AFC's officials have started their search to replace departed manager Lee Morris after he left on Friday to take over at EVO-STIK Northern Premier League rivals Frickley Athletic.

After losing their manager to the Blues, the EVO-STIK NPL First Division North Vikings are inviting suitably experienced candidates for the vacant post at the Victoria Pleasure Grounds to send in their footballing CVs to director Steve Shorthouse at shorty25558@icloud.com.

Veteran striker Morris, pictured, stood down to succeed Karl Rose after he became the first managerial casualty of the 2016-17 EVO-STIK NPL campaign at the top flight club earlier this week.

Morris, 33, was appointed in February after leaving EVO-STIK NPL First Division South Shaw Lane and his post as Craig Elliott’s playing assistant manager to succeed Alan Semley.

During his career, the forward has enjoyed scored goals for Hallam, Buxton, Droyslden, Frickley Athletic, Hucknall Town, Harrogate Town, North Ferriby United and Stalybridge Celtic.

At the Ducks, he helped fire the club to promotion from the Northern Counties East League to become the club's all-time top scorer.
