Seasiders strengthen in defence

Whitby Town have announced the signing of defender Harrison Beeden from Brighouse Town.

Beeden, 19, came through the ranks with Rotherham’s Under 18s side, before having a loan spell with Town in 2020.

He later joined Brighouse last year, and spent a season with the West Yorkshire club, making 38 first-team appearances.

The young centre-back has slotted straight into Nathan Haslam’s side, as he featured in last night’s 2-0 win in the North Riding Senior Cup against York City.

The Seasiders are currently 20th in the Pitching In Northern Premier League, with 11 points from 13 matches this season.

They will be looking to build on the clean sheet in their next fixture as they welcome Stockton Town to the Yorkshire Payments Stadium.
