Season long campaign for carers

Colwyn Bay will be supporting local families fostering children throughout the 2017-18 EVO-STIK League season.

The Seagulls are teaming up with the Conwy Fostering Service to offer local foster carers and their children complimentary season tickets for the campaign.

The EVO-STIK League North club hope an estimated 160 fostering families in their area will benefit from the new partnership at Llanelian Road, pictured, which starts from next weekend.

Club officials said they were looking forward to helping to promote the work of Conwy Fostering Service in a statement on Sunday after their 3-0 win over Stocksbridge Park Steels in the Emirates FA Cup this weekend.

A spokesman said: "The club sees this as a small token of appreciation for the amazing service they provide. Foster carers can pick up their complimentary season tickets on the turnstile at any home game, starting Saturday 26 August, when we play Colne FC. We look forward to welcoming our local foster carers and their families to the club."

Statistics show that in Wales there are over 5,000 children and young people, ranging from babies to 21 years of age currently in care.

Fostering a child or young person requires significant levels of commitment, energy and patience, yet foster carers and their families say it can be an immensely rewarding experience. Conwy foster carers offer local children and young people a range of options including short and long term care, short breaks, respite, remand foster care and care for children and parents.
