The Hillmen confirmed that Wednesday 10 May was the last day for candidates to come forward after formally launching the hunt this week for a successor to Chris Willock who stood down after taking the club into the EVO-STIK NPL as North West Counties Football League champions and an FA Vase final during his four years at the helm since 2013.
Following their eighth-placed finish to the 2016-17 EVO-STIK NPL First Division North season, officials at the Arthur Goldthorpe Stadium, pictured, say the ideal candidate for the vacant post will have experience at their level although it is not deemed essential.
A Hillmen spokesman said: "An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to be an integral part of the future growth of Glossop North End Football Club as first team manager. This role will provide a good opportunity to work within a forward-thinking club in the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League's First Division North.
"Ideally, but not essentially, the successful candidate will have experience at this level and be familiar with working in a semi-professional club."
Candidates should send their CVs along with a covering letter to Glossop North End secretary Peter Hammond via email using the subject line First Team Manager Vacancy at gnefc@hotmail.com. Alternatively, applications should be posted to the secretary at the club's home addreess - Glossop North End AFC, 15 Longmoor Road, Glossop, SK13 6NH.
For more specific information on the opportunity or queries in relation to applications, candidates should also contact the secretary at gnefc@hotmail.com.
The Hillmen are the sister club of Premier League giants Arsenal with a bond stretching back to when Samuel Hill-Wood was the Derbyshire club’s chairman during their Football League era in the early years of the 20th Century. After moving to London and becoming Arsenal chairman, the baton was passed to his son Denis and then his son Peter until he stepped down in 2013.
