Sheffield to host Kevin Austin memorial match

EVO-STIK League East Division side Sheffield will host Chesterfield on Tuesday in a memorial match for former Chesterfield defender Kevin Austin.

Austin died recently from pancreatic aged just 45 years, and his son Aaron is currently on the scholarship programme at Sheffield.

The proceeds of the game will be donated to St Luke’s Hospice in Sheffield.

It will be played at the Coach & Horses Ground, the home of football, on Tuesday December 11 (7pm kick-off).

Defender Austin played more than 50 games for Chesterfield between 2008 and 2010, and also played more than 100 games for all three of Leyton Orient, Lincoln City and Swansea City.

He also played for Bristol Rovers, Boston United, Darlington, Kettering Town, Cambridge United, Barnsley and Saffron Walden Town, and won seven international caps for Trinidad & Tobago.
