Sheridan quits after budget review

Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Salford City have started the hunt to find a new manager after Darren Sheridan resigned on Saturday night.

The Evo-Stik NPL First Division North club announced on the club's official website that Sheridan had left Moor Lane following a recent review of the club's budget, their former manager reluctanctly deciding against continuing in his role before leaving with immediate effect.

A spokesman said: "Salford's committee would like to publicly record their appreciation of Sheridan's efforts during his seven months at Moor Lane and wish him all the very best for the future. The club hope to appoint a new manager as soon as possible."
