Six of the best at Rams

Ramsbottom United are congratulating six of their young stars who've been called up to represent Lancashire.

Sam Milton, Matt Warburton, Sam Crook, Ryan Boulton, Michael King and Callum Smith are all in the county's 15 man squad to take on the North Riding FA at the County Ground, Leyland on Saturday 19 January. Luke Bradbury is also on standby for the Northern Counties Youth Division Two fixture which kicks off at 2pm.

The Evo-Stik NPL First Division North club's spokesman Tony Cunnigham said: "The club congratulates all the players and wishes them well on the day."

Cunningham also revealed that the Rams are delighted with a haul of four points from their last two games against near neighbours they've never met before in league fixtures. On Saturday the Rams came home with a 1-1 draw from Bamber Bridge, a mere 21 miles from the Harry Williams Riverside Stadium. That result followed their New Year's Day 3-2 home win over Radcliffe Borough who are located just six miles down the road.
