Skem midfielder seeks fresh start

Warrington Town have swooped to sign experienced midfielder Lee Parle form local rivals Skelmersdale United ahead of Saturday's home clash against league leaders Mossley.

Parle, 29, was previously club captain at Marine, where he spent six years before joining Evo-Stik NPL First Division North Skelmersdale two years ago. Parle was a key member of Tommy Lawson's title-chasing squad before picking up a knee injury at the back end of last season.

Now fully fit, he's joined Warrington looking for a fresh start and Wire manager Shaun Reid believes he'll bring valuable experience to midfield in a team which had an average age of just 23.

Reid said: "Lee is a very experienced player and is looking for a new challenge and we are delighted to welcome him to Warrington Town."

The Wire also confirmed on Friday that another midfielder, Luke Holden, has taken up the opportunity of switching to Conference North Colwyn Bay.
