Stadium seminar does the business

By David Watters

The EVO-STIK League's official pitch partners GreenFields have been delivering all the information clubs need to start upgrading their grounds at their first stadium development seminar of the summer.

A total of ten clubs have all the latest news, advice and contacts at their fingertips this weekend after attending Thursday night’s "everything you need to know" event at the Ewen Fields home of Hyde United.

After inviting experts from financial funding experts Sedulo and the Northern Premier League’s architectural partners and fair play awards sponsors at the Frank Whittle Partnership to attend and speak to delegates, delighted officials at GreenFields believe the seminar more than lived up to its billing of delivering comprehensive advice on stadium and pitch development to clubs.

GreenFields UK marketing manager Louise Henderson said: “We were really happy with the event and turnout of clubs. The seminar worked well in conjunction with the funding experts Sedulo and the EVO-STIK League architectural partners at FWP. Thanks to everyone who attended and to the Northern Premier League themselves for support with the event.”

While funding experts Sedulo were on hand to talk about standard funding routes and the latest alternatives currently available to NPL clubs, Preston and Manchester-based FWP outlined the most up-to-date services they offer covering everything from architecture and project management to structural engineering and interior design.

Appointed last summer as official pitch partners for the historic 2017-18 50th anniversary campaign, GreenFields are now getting ready to unveil the top-rated surface in each of the NPL's three divisions at June’s end of season awards night after the competition's judges visited the homes of nine finalists in April.

Hednesford Town, Stourbridge and Whitby Town representing the top flight, Colwyn Bay, Tadcaster Albion and Trafford in EVO-STIK League North and Belper Town, Loughborough Dynamo and Stamford in EVO-STIK League South, are all in the running to collect the inaugural accolades at Blackpool’s Hilton Hotel on Saturday 16 June after first being nominated by their fellow clubs.

As well as the honour of being the first recipients since the league teamed up with GreenFields to offer advice on maintaining grass surfaces and surface solutions for 3G and hybrid turf pitches, the winners will also be presented with £500 vouchers to redeem against future maintenance materials or services from the specialists.
