Stars reuniting for charity re-match

EVO-STIK League Haleowen Town are supporting a unique sporting double header for charity on Sunday.

The Yeltz are backing the efforts of a West Bromwich Albion fan who's gathered together a team of former stars from teams in the West Midlands to take part in Kick It For 6 - a cricket and football double-header for charity Inspire Afrika.

With the help of former West Brom defender Darren Moore, Sallyann Wright and the Albion Foundation has put together a team of ex-players from Albion, Villa, Birmingham City and Wolves who took on a Birmingham Cricket League XI in a T20 match at Old Hill in September and are meeting up again for a rematch at The Grove, pictured.

Former Football League and Premier League stars Andy Johnson, Geoff Horsfield, Paul Robinson, Lee Carsley, Darren Purse, Jody Carddock, Darren Byfield, Michael Johnson, Tony Daley, Dele Adebola and Darius Vassell are hoping to feature in the fundraising fixture with tickets priced at £5 for adults and £3 for children.

Inspire Afrika is a non-profit organisation providing volunteering trips to Nakuru in Kenya to improve the lives of children from slum areas and their communities.

John Hill's Yeltz recorded a 2-1 victory at Stourbridge in the EVO-STIK League Premier in front of a bumper derby and Non-League Day crowd of 2,306 on Saturday.
