Blyth Spartans fans will be tune into all seven of their final fixtures of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League campaign as a thank you from Radio Northumberland for backing the station’s new coverage this season.

The community station has already covered 29 of Spartans’ 43 competitive fixtures over the last seven months and co-commentators Jonny Hall and Mark Carruthers are looking forward to kicking off their ‘Spartans Magnificent Seven’ live from Ilkeston’s New Manor Ground on Saturday.

The seven fixtures include Spartans’ final home games against FC United of Manchester, Whitby Town and the Northumberland FA Senior Cup semi-final replay against Ashington along with the trip to the Robins followed by Nantwich Town, Worksop Town and the final day at Stamford AFC.

Hall, Head of Sport for the station, said: “Both myself and Mark have been completely overwhelmed by the support of the club and most importantly the Green Army. They have been with us every step of the way and we are delighted to make this announcement."

"When we made the decision to start this journey, we always wanted to aim big and we continue to offer the level of access to a non-league club which we feel is unrivalled in the North East. In the process, Spartans have become the envy of many Evo-Stik Northern Premier League clubs as well."

"It has been a fantastic season and we look forward to being there with Tom and the lads, providing the supporters with the coverage that they deserve."
