Step 4 round-up | Saturday 28 October

Recap the latest action from Step 4 of the Northern Premier League…

In the NPL East Division, two Kevin Bastos penalties were enough to see Belper Town move three points clear at the top of the table thanks to a 2-0 win at Brighouse Town.

Nearest challenges Hebburn Town lost ground as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Cleethorpes Town.

Meanwhile, Lamin Sisawo Danso was on target for Carlton Town as they climbed to third with a 1-0 win at Bridlington Town.

The Millers climbed above Stockton Town after they were beaten 3-2 at Liversedge - a Nicholas Walker double helping the hosts to their sixth league win of the season.

Six games were played in the NPL West Division, with Prescot Cables scoring at the death to beat fellow high-flyers Kidsgrove Athletic 2-1.

Anthony Donaldson netted a stoppage-time winner for Cables, who capitalised on previous leaders Citheroe's surprise 2-1 defeat at Vauxhall Motors to climb to the division's summit.

A Daniel Trickett-Smith double helped Leek Town climb back into the play-offs after a 4-1 win over 1874 Northwich.

The Blues sit four points off top spot but have three games in-hand on many of the teams around them.

There were also wins on the road for Mossley and Chasetown, while there was no separating Hednesford Town and Stalybridge Celtic as the two sides played out a 1-1 draw at Keys Park.

In the NPL Midlands Division, Loughborough Dynamo came from behind to beat Gresley Rovers 4-2 and move top of the pile, with Evan Garnett scoring a hat-trick for the home side.

Previous leaders Spalding United were beaten for just the second time in the league this season - goals from Nathan Kabeya and Ben Billingham helping Lye Town to a 2-0 win.

Third-placed Anstey Nomads also swept aside Hinckley LR 3-0, while there was late drama at the Dovecote Stadium as James Shaw struck late in the day to help Shepshed Dynamo defeat Corby Town 3-2 - the visitors having thought Toby Hillard's 90th minute equaliser was enough to rescue a point.
