Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Padiham are staging a charity fundraiser next Sunday in memory of fan and former Non-League footballer Tony Nuttall.

The First Division North’s Storks announced on Saturday that the charity fixture between a Burnley Vintage Clarets XI and a Clarets Mad XI is kicking off at 2.00 pm.

Former Burnley stars expected to turn out include the likes of Vince Overson, Frank Sinclair, Adi Akinbiyi, Paul Weller, Andy Cooke, David Eyres, Roger Eli, Liam Robinson, Graham Lancashire, Peter Mumby, George Oghani, Junior Bent, David Hamilton, John Deary, Jamie Hoyland, Andy Farrell, Paul Atkinson, Phil Eastwood, Gerry Harrison, Chris Scott, Nigel Smith and Craig Mawson.

A friend of the club and a lifelong Burnley fan, the popular Lancashire League cricketer, pictured with his wife Janet, passed away aged 54 in June 2013 after battling terminal cancer. The sportsman also played for Great Harwood FC and was good enough to play a few games for Accrington Stanley reserves in goal. He also turned out for local teams Rishton and Oswaldtwistle Immanuel.

Entry next Sunday (May 18) at the Arbories Memorial Sports Ground is free with spectators being asked to make a donation to the Macmillan Cancer Support Fund.

This fundraiser is the last fixture at the ground before close season maintenance work on the pitch gets underway.
