Striker departs South Shields

South Shields have announced that centre-forward Cedric Main will depart the club by mutual consent.

Main, 25, joined the North East side from FC United in October 2021.

The striker made 18 appearances at the 1st Cloud Arena and scored three goals.

His game time for the Mariners was limited due to a knee injury which he had sustained months prior to his rehabilitation period in May.

On his departure from South Shields, Main said, "For me leaving any football club is never easy, for what ever reason it didn’t quite work out for me but certainly not for the want of trying. I hope the club gets its rewards with promotion this season!

"I wish everyone at the club all the best for the future it was a pleasure playing here! Big thank you to the fans for their incredible support."
